Ten Dollar All Cotton
A short-sleeve boxy shirt that is pure cotton and almost free.
Uniqlo's Boxy Shirt is all cotton, which is the whole reason it earns an A: nothing synthetic, no stretch, no processed filler hiding in the weave. Cotton breathes, softens with washing, and feels like real fabric rather than plastic, and at 9.90 dollars you almost never see it unblended at this price. Most labels would cut in polyester to save pennies on a shirt this cheap. Uniqlo did not, so you get an honest, woven cotton short-sleeve for the cost of lunch. That is the easiest value call we make.
Good to know
- The care line says machine wash cold on a gentle cycle; wash cold and skip high heat, since all-cotton can shrink and a boxy cut is meant to stay roomy.
- The label also lists dry clean as an option, but you do not need it. Cold water and air or low-heat drying keep it honest.
- At 9.90 dollars for pure cotton, there is no catch to weigh. This is as low risk as a buy gets.
