Loft's Scoop Back Boatneck Tank Top is 95 percent cotton with 5 percent elastane, and that small dose of stretch is the whole point: it earns a B, the cotton breathes, and the elastane (petroleum based, yes, but here it is doing honest work) helps the fit hold through a long day instead of sagging. Both the shell and the lining run the same 95 percent cotton blend, so there is no hidden polyester layer doing the heavy lifting, which is more than we can say for a lot of tanks at this price. At 13.37 dollars it is genuinely cheap for cotton this clean, the kind of basic you can buy two of and not think about.
Good to know
- Machine washable, but wash cold and tumble dry low; high heat is hard on both the cotton and the elastane.
- The 5 percent elastane is what keeps it from being a pure-cotton A, but it is well within our tolerance and is the reason the tank keeps its scoop-back shape.
- At under fourteen dollars for a near-all-cotton tank, this is the rare price where the fabric is not the corner that got cut.
